I didn’t realize Tesla assembled cars in Italy.

Elon--  “That’s a feature.  If you ever get stranded in the Mojave you can lick the water out of the tail lights to stay alive.  You’re welcome!”

Elon’s fanbois: “ We just traced your IP address and called the police to report a hostage situation at your house, so maybe now you’ll think twice before you speak ill of Tesla again.”

Oh, I’m really rather hoping some of the Cult stops by sometime. Rather savoring the prospect, actually.

Back in 7th grade English class we read a short story about a family’s car breaking down and getting stranded out in the desert and dying of dehydration. The story was clearly intended of parable of well-educated city-folk being disconn ected with the natural and mechanical world, as it ends with rural police officer who found them lamenting that they died of thirst with a radiator full of drinkable water. I have no idea how old it was, but I hope it was ancient given that generally it’s been a very long time since water was a common choice for radiator fluid, even in places where freezing isn’t a concern. So I guess what I’m saying is that I’d much rather drink tail light water than radiator “water” if I’m dying in the desert.

Tesla makes appliances in Silicon Valley, they aren’t sure what cars are yet.

Candidly, with all the trips back and forth on 10 and 40 from LA to points east?  I always have at least 4 gallons of fresh or distilled water in the back.  In the old timey days you could scavenge fluid but now it’s BYOB.

The extra twist would be them driving a corvair or bug and the sheriff not knowing wtf  he was talking about :p

...how did you manage to post that without the stupid annotation crap?

Looks like they disabled it for comments. Finally some common sense.

Yeah, it might be a bug...  that’s a cut-and-paste inline, rather than “upload”

At one point they started enforcing that as well. Along with the double pasting bug still in place.
